Gavin Newlom says ‘I don’t want’ to be President as he insists Democrats will no longer play by Michelle Obama’s rules
California Gov. Gavin Newlom was fueled by speculation that he plans to run for President on Sunday.
One of the leaders of the books of the Democratic Party in the Trump Era, NewArem once told CBS news that he would be “sleeping” if he said that he was not looking to run for President last year.
But on Sunday, the governor sounded more inclined to pull the trigger on that particular project.
Asked by Meet the media President Kristen Welker, “Why do you want to be President?”, New Neww’s answer was simple.
“I’m not,” she said.
Gavin Newlom backtracked on the President’s endorsement after telling CBs to ‘lie’ if he said he wasn’t looking to run in 2028 (NBC – press conference)
He went on to explain that while he was trying to answer the question from CBS COSTA honestly, his focus was entirely on the process of revitalizing California and what it would mean for his party in the upcoming 2026 Midterm elections. Democrats hope to win back one or both houses of Congress, allowing them to challenge the President’s agenda directly.
“I’m not suggesting that I am [running for president]”The story told NBC.” It was being answered by someone [who] he talked about it. “
He added that there is “nothing I dislike more than a politician who lives there and sleeps with you”.
“I’m focused on Prop 50. I’m focused on a fair and free election. And to the extent, the future, you’re meeting the preparedness,” said the governor, referring to what he is likely to present to California voters.
During the interview, New Breet battled the impressive Welker on several points.
One moment came as the two argued over whether the US Department of Justice could still be trusted to handle cases properly; The governor pointed to Welker’s suggestion that such hope is possible, given how the White House and DoJ have launched a campaign to plant the President’s political enemies with serious charges and apparently motivated by a desire to punish Democrats.
The two also argued that the New New Bhaina was “using” the situation of “Donald Trump’s behavior by mocking his account” GcinaRom Press Office “on X, which took to reduce the statements of social media.
“It reminds me of something Michelle Obama said once, ‘when they go down, we go up.’ Is there a layer of that mentality for the Democrats? ” asked Welker.
“I would like to go back to that, but politics has changed. The world has changed,” the news responded.
Despite the doubts of New New hesitates to use the President, the governor did one thing in his conversation with Welker that can be seen, for political observers, it seems to take another step towards what happened in that event.
The governor was asked by Welker about the problem that most journalists and democratic officials believe will be the biggest problem in 2028 biden. Themty the Trust and Audity ratings with the voters are at historic lows, and the release of the 2024 election campaign is largely to blame. Democrats refused to hold the primary after he announced he planned to run for re-election in 2023, with one lone congressman, Dean Phillips, pleading with his party to change course.
After that, the performance of the disastrous debate on Joe Biden in June revealed a President who is already lost, confused and physically weak, unable to respond properly with counterpoints or finish his succession. At that point, it’s too late to get the perfect competition and team stats like rep. Jim Clyburn opposed efforts by the likes of Barack Obama to let party voters decide the issue.

Newloom told Welker that while he was “never” concerned about the bid’s ability to do his job, he had “raised concerns about the President’s attitude after the fundraiser.” In that event, in May of 2024, the US President who always failed to recognize the icon of the megastar Hollge George Clooney, one of the supporters of the Pronphoc Party Party in the film industry.
“The exception, as it relates to the communication I had with him, who gave me a break, one, was a fundraiser in southern California. And we were all a little taken. The governor added that when he was challenged by Trump, “That person returned to that debate at night and certainly gave it to all of us.”
He went on to say that he raised his concerns in the campaign “privately, graciously and humbly,” when he heard what was wrong with Vice President Kamala Harris for making his running mate to come out and said: “He was going to make the right decision.”
That move to address concerns about Biden’s age puts the governor ahead of his potential rivals, including Harris who had been divisive about why it was too late during a recent media tour, 107 days.
Harris, in particular, may (and other former administrations) face those questions as party voters blame the leadership for what should have been a Democratic Party and Senate election.
Refusing to say he would do anything different than the four-year-old bid, Harris will be responsible for the entire record of the Biden-Harris Administration should he enter the field in 2028. This year, he declined to run for governor in California.
