Ex-Angels VP Tim Mead questioned by Skaggs Lawyer about negligent negligence

Testimony began Wednesday in a lawsuit filed by the family of Tyger pitcher Tyler Skaggs for high-profile cases against the Angels.

Tim Mead, 40-year-old angels, was revealed by the plaintiff’s lawyer, Hardin full, during four hours of direct examination as a military manager who had the company’s intentions for failing to report the Fentanyl pills that killed him.

Hardin brought a lany of circumstances where it was possible that Kay had violated the laws of the angels that would have resulted in the order and the end of the roads in July 2019 to Texas in his room after cutting down the illegal drugs provided by Kay.

Meam admitted that she was aware of Kay’s young age of unusual behavior, intense back stories, and problems with prescription medications, but that she did not report any of them to staff.

Hardin asked if he was putting Kay in front of the organization by doing everything possible to save him, allowing him to work for them again.

Med replied: “I don’t think I did it at the time. … I was worried about the organization, him, his family and my staff.”

Hardin asked Mead if he thought about organizing responsibility or Kay, and Mead replied, “slightly.”

Hardin: Did you see any conflict between those roles?

Mead: “Yes, that crossed my mind.”

Hardin asserted that it is sad that Mekame said that he did not know anything about Kay using or distributing every day when she is his wife, the family brought intervention into their home in the evening.

Malidi and Tom Taylor, the traveling secretary of the angels, visited the Kays the next morning, and Camela Kay testified that the money was directed to Eric’s Bedroom, where he placed 10 bags.

Pressed by Hardin, Mead reiterates that he is not saying that he did not do what Camela Kay did, but that he did not remember. Meli insisted that she had no knowledge of Eric Kay using or distributing illegal drugs to the Skaggs or anyone else.

Mead’s trial by Angels’ lawyers will take place on Friday. Court sits every Thursday during what is expected to be a two-month trial.

After Mead on the witness stand will be Taylor and team member John Carpino. More than 75 names are on the list of Witnesses, including the current Angels star mike trout, the manager of the previous manager and some former players who testified about things kay or skaggs gave them opioids.

Attorneys for Angels and the family addressed the judge for the first time Tuesday, delivering very different opening statements.

Angels owner Arre Moreno sat in the front row along with Carpino, although no one was there Wednesday. Skaggs’ widow, Carli, lived next door to Tyler’s mother, Debbie Hetman. Tyler’s father, Darrell Skaggs, was absent due to ill health.

Representing SkaGgs widow and two attorneys with decades of experience representing high profile clients and celebrity clients – Shawn Holley and Hardin.

Early in his career, Holley, 63, worked under Johnnie Cochran and was a member of the OJ Simpson Defense team in 1995. Since then, Jupain Lohan, Axl Roser, Axl Rose, Kardo’s family. Mike Tyson, Lamar Odom, Reggie Bush and Shifu Ray Leonard.

Hardin, 83, represented accounting firm Arthur Andersen during the eviron scandal more than 20 years ago. He also gained the approval of many athletes such as Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs, Warvin Moon, Scottie Pippen, Steve Tomjanovich, Rudy Tomjanovich, Rudy Tomjanovich, Refer Alton and Rafer Alston.

The angels are represented by Todd Theodora, CEO of the respected law firm Theodora Oringer. Theodora and the angels have had a very long relationship.

Theodora served as counsel in a low-level Angels trial brought by the city of Anaheimi in 2005 where the team met with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheimi. The city sought more than $300 million in damages against the Angels, who won the jury’s verdict.

Theodora would not comment on the SKAGGS case because of the ongoing case, but after the victory of the court of angels regarding the name, she explained the most important moments of the pending case.

“You find yourself literally thinking about this case from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed and often in the middle of the night as well,” Theodora said.

The stakes are high in the Skaggs case. Holley delivered opening statements for plaintiffs and said the best estimate of Skaggs’ future lost earnings is $118 million. He added that angels must also compensate the family for friendship, comfort, moral support and financial security. ” And, Holley said, the family should be given punitive damages “not only because [the Angels] Failing to keep Tyler safe, they put him in a cage. ”

Taking a deliberate, endearing approach, Holley walked the judge through a timeline of Kay’s drug use and eventual distribution of opioids. She said Christian Craig Milhouse prescribed Kay lots of oxycodone despite the fact she had no legitimate medical condition.

Holley tried to establish that Kay’s drug use increased year by year, with “a complete failure by the angels to understand the magnitude of the problem.”

Holley said that Kay disclosed his drug use in texts and emails, and that a clubhouse attendant could see Kay snoring drugs in the kitchen area outside the Angel House.

Giving evidence to Kay’s choice of harm – He works in prison by supplying SkaGgs with Fentanyl – Holley said Kay used his email address on Angel to buy illegal drugs.

In 2019, Kay’s drug use got to the point where he ended up in an outpatient treatment program just before the Angels went on a trip to Texas where Skaggs died. Holley pointed out that human resources need a “hard work trial” before returning to work following a drug rehab stint.

“The angels, again, did nothing,” he said. “Less than two months two months after studying Eric Kay was using drugs on players, two months after Eric Kay overdosed and less than a month after rehabilitating Rehabi, within hours,”

Theodora was offended that the group “knows right from wrong,” and that it was the Skaggs who participated in “the unconscionable choices that we teach our children and grandchildren not to make, for good reason.”

Theodora revealed that in addition to the Skaggs cheat pill recorded and expelled in July 2019 the night he died in a Texas hotel room, he had high blood alcohol levels.

“The evidence will show that he was not playing with the pain, he did not put those pills,” said Theodora. “There are no restrictions on the lower limits for anyone to say that it is prepared for someone to prescribe and prescribe opioids, that they are only used for long-term access.”

The Skaggs were involved in three schemes, Theodora said, “One, crime; two, taking illegal drugs;

Mead’s opening statements and testimony underscored the reasons for the recent conference to stay between the two sides nowhere,

Skaggs was found dead in his hotel room in Southlake, Texas, on July 1, 2019, before the Angels were scheduled to begin a series against the Texas Rangers. The Tarrant County medical examiner found that in addition to opioids, Skaggs had a blood alcohol level of 0.12. An autopsy determined he died from asphyxia after attempting to self-abuse, and that his death was accidental.

Prosecutors allege Kay sold opioids to Skaggs and five other baseball players from 2017 to 2019.

The Skaggs family filed their lawsuit in June 2021, alleging that the Angels knew, or should have known, that Kay gave drugs to Skaggs and other players. Testimony during Kay’s criminal trial established that Kay was a long-time user of OxyCodone and that the angels knew it.

The Angels responded that a former public prosecutor the team had hired to conduct an independent investigation into the death of SkaGgs claimed that any of the team’s managers knew or had knowledge of any employee who provided opioids to any player.
