“Immigrants are welcome here; ICE is not,” said County Commissioner Josina Morita.

Hundreds of Evanston residents and elected leaders gathered near Asbury Avenue and Oakton Street Saturday afternoon.

“My faith teaches me that no one is illegal, and no one deserves to be tried by a woman,” said the Rev. Evanston Church government. Eleanor Viviott.

This comes 24 hours after other tense moments played out in the area, and three US citizens were arrested.

Evansston mayor said: “My understanding is that these three people have been taken.

Witnesses said a man and a woman in a red car were following the agents to warn people of their presence.

That’s when, onlookers say, the agents slammed on their brakes, causing people to get into the agent’s car.

Neighbors said a man and a woman were dragged out of the car. ABC7 blacked out their face because we don’t know if they were charged.

A cell phone video shows someone forcing an agent to punch a man into the ground. At one point, the agent is seen pulling a gun on the opponent and threatening to pepper spray him.

“I was surprised that, a block from my home, people were being pulled from their cars by masked men, some were beaten, and they were punched in the face,” said Evanston resident Kate Levan.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia Mclauglin wrote in X, “the person arrested in this video assaulted and kicked the border’s private parts.

Biss says the Evanston Police Department is actively investigating the matter.

“Therefore, our police officers now, have evaluated the options as to whether the appropriate course of action is to work with the County County State’s attorney to suppress the costs of justice in the Department of Justice, but they are gathering evidence and gathering the best course of action for the Department,” said Biss.

Biss went on to say that immigration operations had an impact on their schools and caused fear among students. On Friday, the outside break was canceled as federal agents were on the scene.

At that time, in addition to the public viewing, four people were arrested on Saturday in connection with the protests outside the immigration stage and the police said, the police said. They face charges such as resisting, disorderly conduct, disobeying a police officer and simple assault.

DHS released a statement on the events in Evanston on Friday, saying, “Today, the US Borse Patrol conducted operations in Evanston and Skokie, Illinois, which led to the arrest of five illegal aliens from Mexico, all of whom violated our country’s laws.

While on duty at Oakton Street and Ashbury Avenue in Evanston, agents were observed being pulled over by a red car. When the agents attempted to make a U-Turn, the red car collided with the border crossing. A hostile crowd surrounded the agents and their car, and began verbally abusing and spitting. Since the border was closed by one person, who resisted with enthusiasm, pepper spray was used to stop the renter and disperse the crowd. Three US citizens were arrested for their violence against the law.

“This event is not isolated and shows a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction. In the past few days, this observation refers to attacks on Federal Latsents during operations.” The violence must end. “

Evanston police also released a statement Friday, saying, “The Evanston Police Department responded on Friday, Oct. 31, to several reports of federal officers conducting deportation operations throughout the city. Police officers responded to these reports;

At approximately 12:25 PM, Evanston police responded to reports from citizens and federal agents regarding a traffic accident in which a vehicle was involved in the front. The crash led to a disturbance at the scene.

Initial information indicates that the driver of the environmental vehicle is being held by Federal Agents. With that arrest, a scuffle broke out between members of the public and the agents, reportedly leading to one or two additional arrests. Evanston police worked to secure the scene and prevent further confrontations between members of the public and federal agents.

Before the arrival of the police, the pepper apricot appears to have been used. Evanston MOTOR MOOR AARROREDICES AARRORICE IS GUARANTEED TO PROVIDE SELF MEDICATION FOR PEOPLE EXPOSED TO PEPPER SPRAY.
