Erika Kirk, turned USA CEO and widow of conservation icon Charlie Kirk, rejected the argument that it was a root problem that led to the murder of her husband.
On Wednesday, Kirk sat down with reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin to cover the New York Times Dealbook Dealbook, an acquisitions site that has previously featured luminaries such as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Sorkin noted that her husband was too late to appear at the Dealbook conference before he was killed.
Sorkin said the topic of gun violence was something he and Charlie Kirk often discussed about mass shootings in America.
“He was a true believer, as you know, in the second amendment, And I want to know how he thinks today about gun violence in America, given what happened to him,” Sorkyn said.
Kirk replies: “A thoughtful question,” Kirk replied. “And I didn’t wish it on anyone you passed me by. And I support the second amendment. I do. But there’s a much bigger and deeper conversation in all of that.”

Kirk said when he visits college campuses, counselors often say the top issues students face are “mental health, anxiety [and] depression. “
“And what Charlie knew, and he was trying to explain to students in college, is that you have to understand that the health of the brain is very important – how you eat, how you sit deep and,” Kirk told Sorkin.
“And what I’ve seen with all of this is that you can have – you can have people who will always use violence. And that’s a person who would get it. That’s a soul problem. That’s a deep problem. That’s a big problem.

Kirk also revealed that she had deleted all social media from her phone after her husband was killed.
“Social media, like most things, can be used for good. And it can be used for such evil,” Kirk said. “And Charlie and I have a purpose, especially after the murder, I took it all off with my phone. This can’t be found. He likes it, it has two compared to being called ux, y, z. “

He went on to say that when Charlie “understood the importance of social media,” he would praise the “Sabbath” and wipe their phones every week.
“It didn’t happen overnight. This is something he depends on. And Friday night, when he would go back to the field, and he would put it out with a drawer, and he would put it out with a newspaper, and he would put it out on Saturdays in college, and he could breathe. “He had this sacred moment to just breathe and relax and disconnect from the world, get off the ground and just have a moment to understand that he’s facing a higher list, facing five months, or five minutes from now.
