Erika Kirk makes her first campus appearance at Ole Miss since Charlie’s death

Erika Kirk took the stage at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) Wednesday night with a full house for her transition to the USA Campus for the first time since the death of her husband, Charlie Kirk.

“It’s not hard to cry after watching,” he said of the video tribute that played before he took the microphone. “I didn’t see that … that video from the day it happened.”

“Being on campus now for me is a spiritual restoration of the field,” he said. “There are many signs that are still present today. Wednesday, seven weeks. And when I arrive at the focus and eternal awareness of this night, when I first see it and prove that the enemy, he does not want you.”

Erika thanked the students who filled the arena, many wearing T-shirts of freedom “similar to the one wearing the podium. “You have no idea how useful it is to have all of you in my life, because it helps me feel more connected to my husband,” she told them.

He remembered how Charlie always made a point Transforming the USA USA Event stopping and talking to student leaders. “He’ll ask you what your name is, what you’re studying, what issues are happening on campus,” she said. “He wanted you to know that he was going to invest in you: in your chapter, in your school. That was a gamble for him.”

“Do your word,” he urged. “You are a generation with courage. That is what you are. Everyone, ver v, you are a generation with courage.”

“I lost my friend. I lost my best friend,” he said. “If you are afraid of representing the truth, the killing of my husband puts all the people who are afraid. My husband has never gone with the flow.”

He then shared for the first time with the audience that introduced weeks after Charlie’s murder he avoided their bedroom at home.

“It took me a while to get back to our bedroom,” she said. “I used to come through the bathroom door and come in. I wasn’t ready to go into our bedroom though, and when I finally got to sleep in our bed for the first time, I slept on his side of the bed.”

From that situation, he said: “He finally saw what Charlie saw every morning, those words were attacked on the wall:” They will be known for the courage of their faith. “

“Those were his steps in an act of courage,” Erika said. “Ask yourself those questions every day, and I promise you, you’ll find courage. That death reinforces that you only get one life.”

Love your family with courage. Love your spouse with courage. Love this country, he said. Protect him and serve our God. And don’t think it’s someone else’s role to do. You do it. You do it. “The audience applauded.

“This moment can be your breaking point or your wake-up call,” she said. “Actually, it’s your turning point.”
