Dr Frank Turek defended the death penalty, saying it was supported by the Christian faith.
Christian writer Speaker told FOX News Digital about why he supports the death penalty when there is “doubt that what Charlie Kirk did is really guilty.
“Obviously, we have to do this with what happened. We have to be sure beyond any reasonable doubt that the person is guilty,” said Tutuk.
Turek pointed to Bible verses he believes support the death penalty.

“In Romans 13, it says that this leader does not carry a sword in vain, which means that a ruler or a king does not carry a sword for anything,” said Turek. “That refers to capital punishment. And, when Jesus was before Pilate, Pilate said to Jesus, ‘Don’t you know that I have authority to kill you?’ And Jesus said, ‘Yes, you do, but you get that authority from above.’ “
Tutk explained, “In other words, the government has the right to impose a large penalty for a large crime.”
He said that one cannot “turn the other cheek” in cases of serious crimes such as murder, adding that the order is not well understood.
“People will say, ‘What about the other cheek?’ This is where people seem to misunderstand. There are different orders for people and different orders. If governments were not protected, they would be killed, people would be raped, people would have their lives. “

Turek said, “The Creator gives rights and the government must protect these rights from a biblical perspective.”
“James Madison rightly said, ‘If men were angels, no government would be proper.’ Do we need a government if everyone is an angel? No, there is no need for governments. The reason we have a government is to protect innocent people from evil, to protect rights,” Turek said. “When the government doesn’t do that, it’s an illegal government.”
Turek said America’s early founding shows that rights come from God, not the government.
As Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence, “We hold those truths to be created equal, to be endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
