Chiefs staff stops cameras and follows Travis Kelce after Christmas loss

The Prime Video videographer faced a tough time after the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day.

The live broadcast on Thursday, December 25, showed the following cameras Travis Kelce when he met fans at Arrowhead Stadium. However, when they followed his footsteps back to the locker room, it became clear that the Chiefs employee had a big problem.

“I have told you,” a man wearing a Chiefs jersey was heard talking to the cameras before bringing another man in a suit. A second employee was seen blocking the cameras from moving down the hallway.

The broadcasters of the game were also as confused as the viewers, trying to figure out what was going on. One person could be heard explaining that they would not “allow the camera to go down the aisle for any reason.” Another voiceover noted that Kelce, 36, was “ready to roll,” seeing his back as he walked away from the cameras.

Thursday marked Kelce’s final home game of the NFL season, along with his fiancée, Taylor Swifthe was there. The Chiefs ended up losing to the Broncos 20-13.

Some fans (and media outlets) speculated that the Christmas Day encounter was the last home game of Kelce’s career. However, Kelce has made it clear that his future in athletics remains to be seen and he has not made any decisions about retirement yet.

“I think I’m better off focusing on the media and everything that’s going on with this team right now,” Kelce said in a press conference earlier this month. “All the discussions I have with the team and everything going forward will be with it.”

The cameraman’s incident came Thursday after Kelce received widespread criticism from the media — especially ESPN’s. Chris Russo – after the athlete refused to speak to the media after the Chiefs were eliminated from the NFL Finals following a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14. Patrick Mahomes he also tore his ACL during the game, sidelining him for the rest of the season.

“Sorry, guys, it’s not the time,” Kelce told reporters after the game. “I will catch you during the week.

Days later, Russo had an unpleasant response to Kelce’s comments to the media.

“How’s Kelce doing on Sunday afternoon?” He said during ESPN’s First Take December 17. “They just lost a game. Mahomes tears his ACL. Last play of the game [backup quarterback Gardner] Mnshew goes to Kelce to attempt a field goal. Disconnected. And Kelce, after sitting down in the locker room, says, ‘Not today, guys. I’m not going to talk to you.’”

Russo continued, “We have these poor people who have been shutting down the Chiefs for years, going to every training camp, practicing, every pre-season game. Every day for seven months they shut down the football team and you beat them at the end of this game when they took out Mahomes? Maybe the last game you can play.” [with him]? Can’t you give them three names?”

Russo didn’t stop there, he continued his message to Kelce.

“You blow everyone out of the stadium and you don’t talk to the media and get in the car?” he added. “That’s not right. That’s not the way to do things. You give them five minutes. Give them a few penalties to the Chiefs fans. Really down on him.”
