Clayton Kershaw retires from the Los Angeles Dodgers for the World Series

Los angeles dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw Officially retired from professional baseball following his team’s 2025 victory.
The Dodgers earned back-to-back titles on Saturday, November 1, with a Game 7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in 10 innings and 11 innings. It was another competitive game between the two teams, as the Dodgers came away with a 5-4 victory.
Following the Dodger win, Major League Baseball paid tribute to Kershaw with an X by announcing that he “goes[ing] up. Kershaw, 37, confirmed in September that he planned to retire this year after playing 18 seasons for the Dodgers.
Earlier in the day, the 11-time all-star spoke to MLB Network about how he was feeling as he approached the final game of his professional career.
“I have so many emotions. I think we all do,” the three-year Cy-South winner admitted. “It’s Game 7 and I’m thinking about everything. I’m going to miss it like crazy, my putting [uniform] Finally… But, at the end of the day, when you think about it, you get here with game 7 as your last game. How cool is that, man? “
The pitcher added, “You really don’t know any better than that so thank you very much. It’s going to be a great night and hopefully one more win.”
