Bardot died at the age of 91 on December 28, 2025, from complications related to an unspecified cancer, her partner told the French. Paris Match in an interview published on Wednesday, January 7.
D’Ormale told the newspaper that the former French actor was doing very well with two cancer-related surgeries in recent months before the disease “took him.”
“It came out two or three times in the last months, in times of suffering, he was saying, ‘I’m tired, I want to go,'” said d’Ormale.

“I didn’t leave her near her, I was watching over her, supported by nurses who came smartly every day,” d’Ormale said of Bardot’s last months.
Bardot’s husband also described her last moments when they were together in bed.
“I was lying next to him for a while, I sat there when I heard him say, ‘Pioupiou,’ that little word we used secretly, and it was over,” he said.
“She had a sense of peace and tranquility on her face. She was also incredibly beautiful, like in her youth. You wouldn’t believe she was 91,” d’Ormale said.
Bardot’s funeral service took place at 11 am local time on Wednesday at the Notre-Dame de l’Assomption church in St-Tropez. He will be laid to rest in the family vault inside the city cemetery, where his parents are also buried.
