Builders present a portal to rebuild the fire quickly and cost-effectively

People who lost their homes in the Palades and Eaton fires can now go online to choose vetted housing templates that can generate income and be ready for next year.

Builders Alliance, a non-profit organization formed in response to the fires, on Friday launched a portal that offers survivors a selection of homes, sorted by lot size, price range and other preferences.

“We’re trying to create an ‘Easy’ button for homemakers,” said Lew Horne, chairman of Project Recovery, a group of academics and real estate professionals who created the recovery road map.

Horne is the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the Urban Land Institute and the President of Clearer Real FlealerAge CRREERAGE CBRE of California. Other project leaders include Stuart GABRIEL, director of the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, and Richard Green, Director of the USC LUSK Center for Real Estate.

Homeowners using the portal can match their address to a selection of homes that include prefabricated turchy homes at a cost equal to or less than standard insurance, Horne said. Owners can also choose a custom built one.

New Home Builders consists of 10 licensed home builders, ranging in size from small boutique firms to large companies such as Richmond American Homes and Brookfield.

Brookfield is building more than 200 homes in the La Vina Gated Community in Altadena, and 52 of them have been burned, CEO Adrian Foley said.

“Obviously, we reported on all the losses that happened here,” he said. “We wanted to lean in and do whatever we could to help.”

The Perkers Allianceal Portal is a digital platform that supports all Palikade and Eaton fireside residential parcels. It uses AI technology and is powered by Canibuld, offering site planning software to the residential construction industry.

The site map is tailored to local building codes and in both sections each with large menus for designs and costs. Property owners enter their address and can filter options by preference such as square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms and price.
