Beyond the gates provided some of the worst couples we’ve seen this year in the season opener for the CBS soap. See if you agree as we lay down and count down from number 5, which was bad, all the way down to number 1, which was really toxic as a soap brand.
So you know, two of these toxic couples involve the same man. We put it together, and they are our #5 on the list. So, come on in.
Our number 5 worst romances Beyond the gates Both belong to Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria). One with Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad) and the other with her sister Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle). I will say that Thomas seemed nice when he started pursuing Kat. Thomas was putting up with Kat, who has never been close to a man before. Thomas even put on the brakes to make sure Kat was sure it was the right time before we made love.
Thing is, I don’t think Thomas is the boyfriend Kat thinks he is. I mean, Thomas tells a good game, but he can be really toxic. When he and Kat had that argument after another bad time in bed, Tomas went and did the deed with his sister Eva. In the best of all one situation, tomas met Eva over kat. I will say that EVA absolutely deserves her role in her role in Dana “Leslie” Thomas’ (Trisha Mann-Ginint) who broke Kat’s family. But some of the things that Kat said, I think, are over the line and very immature.
For example, telling Eva that she wishes Leslie would take her out. I mean, that was a bad thing and way over the line. Anyway, I don’t think Thomas will stay on board or die. As for Tomas and Eva, he was in love with her by adoption. They bond over those favorite textbooks. But Thomas appears in the EVA Hotel Room to discuss Sci-Fi novels that were inappropriate.
Thomas was ready to get into Eva’s pants while she was having it with Kat. Eva hit the brakes, saying she doesn’t want to be like her Mom, Lesli. But then, when Tomas helps Eva into the apartment, Tomas tells her that he and Kat are breaking up. Eva was like, “okay, okay,” and they slept together. Turns out it wasn’t reliable.
He and Kat had an argument, but they were quiet as far as they knew. I think he just wanted his ego and other parts of him attacked. He then EVA’d in and ran after Kat. I don’t think Thomas should have softened the sisters. I think they should both kick him to the curb.
That’s right, our number 4 worst dating of the year Beyond the gates Hayley Lawson of Little Lawson (marquita goongs) and her big man, her hot husband Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett). I think we all knew they were toxic from the first episode when we got Hayley breaking into their family and stealing Bill from Danny. Also, I suspected that Hayley was working long hours. Many fans did. Turns out we were all right. He and Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry) plan to kill Bill for 10 million bucks.
Currently, Hayley is a drug addict, hoping to resurrect her own death. But again, Bill is toxic because he recently kissed his wife Dani dupree (Karla Mosley). That’s because Bill was jealous that she was married to the hot, young guy, Andre. Bill didn’t look twice at Dani for a day and didn’t put his lips on her until he found someone else. So, I think Bill is actually visiting Karma with Hayley trying to kill him. They are an absolutely toxic duo. I can’t even say they don’t deserve it.
Our 3 worst romantic couples list on Beyond the gates it is a couple that will not show completely. They never filled in as an organized couple. This is the awkward opening duo of Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) and Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman). We’ve known he’s had trouble at Ashley for a while, but the timing was never right. Also, Andre traveled a lot for work and was a playboy.
At the time, Ashley was a blue collar and prep school student. He was just basic powder. But Andre was really hot. When he found his Flirt with Ashley, he was tempted, especially because he saw the future he had with Derek on average and very sweet. Ashley wanted something bigger in life. But time was always closing in on Andreley. He tempted him that summer night at his place, then he put on the brakes.
Andre almost walked in on Ashley. Then he was already in his place and said, “Okay, let’s do this.” He saw her lock up Dan after he and Dan had decided not to be together. That cleared things up. After that Derek was paralyzed for a while and Ashley felt responsible. Andre got drunk and married Dani. So Andre and Dani fell in love, and Ashley dumped Derek. He is single like pringle.
He tried to go back with Andre, but it was too late. Bottom line: Ashley and Andre just seemed like a good fit from the start. Honestly, I never saw the chemistry between them to justify his attraction to Ashley. So, I think it’s a good thing that this love burns so early.
Okay, our number 2 worst love Beyond the gates This year it’s Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) and Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). By the way, I like sizzle, but I think it’s a bad product. I have to give it a good lead with Vanessa and her dead husband Doug as one of the really bad romances of 2025 Beyond the gates. Now, while I think Vanessa and Joy’s romance is bad, I also like them a lot.
Vanessa was Cuckoldly Doug because she was never satisfied. Doug was hitting a lot of money in the casino because he was satisfied. Vanessa was chasing happiness in bed, and Doug was chasing happiness at the betting table. After that Joey did it between them on purpose. He gave the overjoyed Vanessa what she wanted. He beat Doug to a loss so that Vanessa could finish the money. But Joey did everything to his tribes Vanessa. That was not part of his plan.
Things came to a screeching halt when Joey was killed by Doug because he was the only obstacle that kept Joey from getting Vanessa to him. I mean, it’s dating in a dark mobster kind of way, right? Doug fully intended to take Joey down and proceeded to plan to arrest him. So, that was part of it. Doug had to leave.
Now Vanessa is content in bed. He turns out to be quite a petty criminal, running Joey Armstrong’s Escort Services and spending money on his real company. He has succeeded in the life of crime. He likes life on the edge. Vanessa is still a very interesting junkie, and Joey is a bad influence. I’m having fun, but come on, it’s bad fun.
That’s right, and, you probably, probably guessed it’s the number one romance Beyond the gates At its opening are Leslie and Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson). They were bad back in the day when Ted cheated on Leslie and cheated on her while Nicole was going through childbirth. He had just pulled out a bug when Ted started knocking the boots off guard Leslie / Dana.
Afterwards, Bill made threats and told Leslie that she had to have an abortion. Ted thought that was what happened. So, they have a grown daughter, and Leslie is completely back from ruining Ted’s life. But he still blew it with him. So everything was very toxic. It was totally crazy for Leslie and recently when she was drunk and used very poor judgement. Basically, there is no judgment at all.
Ted needs to get the apartment with the doorman and a restraining order against Leslie to kill her. Now that she has another flavor of her teddy bear, I think Leslie will never give up. What he has and has will never be anything but the worst love. Even worse Beyond the gates this year. Submit your ideas.
