Benedict and Sophie’s forbidden love story was teased in Bridgerton season 4 trailer — more than a lot of sex scenes.

Netflix released a first look on Thursday, December 25, showing Benedict (Luke Thompson) again trying to avoid getting a wife.

Benedict’s mother urges him to be careful while playing candy ball. That’s when a suitable member of the Bridgerton family sees a mysterious woman aka Sophie (Yerin Ha). He was quickly beaten but disappeared before he could get his name. The audience, however, knows that Sophie is actually a servant who works for a wealthy family.

“He doesn’t want to find me,” said Sophie, peeking out. “You want to find the lady in the silver dress – and it’s not true.”

Elsewhere in the trailer, Francesca (Hannah Dodd) is seen kissing her husband, John (Victor Alli)after their dynamic became more innocent in season 3. There is also a sex scene between Alice (Emma Naomi) and will (Martins Imhangbe) before the blink-and-you-miss-it moment suggests that Benedict and Sophie end their relationship. Fans of Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlin) also saw a steamy moment in the trailer as a flashback to their close encounter in season 3.
