Aid Group for the Opposition set up in Gaza as an alternative to quitting jobs

The US- and Israel-supported Gaza humanitarian foundation, has decided to distribute aid to Gaza as an alternative to the United Nations, but what Palestinian nations were risking the lives of civilians as they tried to get food, said Monday will be to close operations.

The company had already shut down its distribution sites after the end of the US-fired installation that began operating six weeks ago in Gaza. It was announced on Monday that it was closing permanently, saying it had fulfilled its mission. “We have succeeded in our mission to demonstrate that there is a better way to deliver aid to Gazans,” GHF director John Acree said in a statement.

The operation of the GHF was inherited from secrecy during its short time in operation. Introduced by us and Israeli funding in another way to the United Nations, the group has never disclosed its sources of funding and little about the armed contractors who operate the sites.

It means its aim is to bring aid to Gaza without being diverted by Hamas.

Risking life for help

Palestinian workers, AID officials and health officials said the plan forced aid seekers to risk their lives to reach sites by bypassing Israeli security forces. The soldiers often opened fire, killing hundreds, according to witnesses and videos posted on social media. Israel’s military says it only fires warning shots as a crowd control measure or if its forces are in danger.

The GHF said there was no violence at the aid stations themselves but acknowledged the potential dangers people face when walking to them. However, contractors working at the sites, backed by video accounts, said American security forces fired live ammunition and improvised explosive devices as hungry Palestinians tore into food.

Acree said that the GHF will outsource its work to the USED center in Israel which is still overseeing the Gaza settlement.

“GHF has been in international organizations and organizations for weeks now and it is clear that they will accept and increase the number of GHF flights waiting,” he said.

Tommy Piggott, the spokesperson for the US Deputy State Department, said on the Social Media X Platform that the GHF ‘shared important lessons with us.’

The UN opposes the ghf

The GHF began operations in late May, after Israel suspended food deliveries to Gaza for three months, forcing the population to starve.

Israel intended to hire a private contractor to replace the UN’s food distribution program, which Hamas says is disrupting large-scale aid. The UN has denied the claims.

The UN had opposed the creation of the GHF, saying the plan gave Israel a monopoly on food distribution and could force Palestinian migration. Throughout the war, the UN led a massive humanitarian effort with humanitarian assistance and other Aid groups, distributing food, medicine, fuel and other supplies to hundreds of centers around Gaza.

In a release, GHF said it had delivered more than three million food boxes to Gaza, amounting to 187 million meals.

The remains of the abduction are found

Meanwhile, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Group said in a statement on Monday that it was found in the body of a hostage in the Israeli territory of the Gaza Strip. It did not say when the handover would take place.

The governing body is one of three in Gaza.

Hamas and Israel signed an agreement on Oct. 9, stopping two years of devastating war. But the agreement left more open disputes for more talks, unraveling the conflict without resolution.

As part of the deal, Hamas released all surviving hostages still held in Gaza in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and prisoners of war held by Israel.

The agreement also provides for the return of the remains of 28 hostages who will take the remains of 360 soldiers. Both sides have, since the confrontation, accused each other of existing commitments to the agreement and pushing back on the latest steps required by US President Donald Trump’s Plan Town.
