Ariana Grande again Ethan Slater‘s romance defies gravity, but turns heads from the start.
Us Weekly confirmed in July 2023 that They are not bad costars Grande and Slater are in a “new” relationship following their respective splits.
News came out that month that Grande again Dalton Gomez it ended after two years of marriage. Slater filed for divorce from his wife Lilly Jay shortly after his romance with Grande hit the headlines.
After keeping their relationship under the radar in the summer of 2023, Grande and Slater began stepping out together that September. “They are comfortable too [both] theater professionals at heart. You love that about him. It’s agreed,” the insider said to himself Us of the couple in November 2023. “Their relationship is blossoming. It’s easy with zero drama.”

July 2023
Us confirmed that Grande and Gomez split earlier this year. Said the insider Us when they broke up in January after having issues they “couldn’t work out” before Grande left for London to shoot. They are not bad. The source revealed that “the distance didn’t help” their marriage.
“Ariana and Ethan are dating,” a separate source said Us in July, noting that Grande and Slater both broke up when they started dating. “Ariana and Ethan just started seeing each other but they are very happy together and enjoying each other’s company.”
Slater, who was married to Jay for four years, filed for divorce on July 26. The unmarried couple have one son.
September 2023
The two stepped out for a day at Disneyland on September 22, days after Grande filed for divorce from Gomez. “They left [to Disneyland] with a large group of friends including his mother and brother and they are really happy,” said the source Us of exit. “All his friends love him.”

October 2023
The couple took the next step in their romance by starting to live together in the Big Apple, an insider informed Us on Oct. 4. “Ethan let his friends and soon-to-be wife know that he’s living with Ariana full-time in New York,” a source shared, noting Grande and Slater are “really happy and great for each other.”
After two days, Us confirmed that Grande and Gomez have settled their divorce. After the divorce, Grande and Slater became even more public about their relationship. “I feel like there’s no need to go into any specifics, but, of course, it’s like an unsatisfied, unexplainable frustration, a feeling of hell watching people, not understanding the people you love and whatever,” Grande said of her relationship in an episode of “The Zach Sang Show” on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel.
He also joked about releasing his album Eternal Sun amid the drama about his love life “it was a very bad idea,” adding, “I’m very nervous, because pieces of it are real and pieces of it are also conceptual. So, what is that separation?”

Grande released her seventh album, Eternal Sunwhich had many songs supposedly about her breakup with Gomez and relationship with Slater. “Ariana thinks these songs will give a lot of insight to her fans,” the source said Us at that time. “[It’s] his side of the story about Dalton and Ethan.”
The album’s lead single, “Yeah, Also?,” seemed to call out the haters directly. “Don’t comment on my body, don’t comment,” Grande sings in the track’s bridge. “Your business is yours and mine is mine / Why do you care who I ride?”

Grande and Slater both attended CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas to promote They are not badafter which they were seen packing on the PDA while having dinner at Nobu Caesars Palace. Grande was seen leaning in to kiss her boyfriend, while Slater put his hand on the back of her seat.

“That’s a really good question,” Slater said. “That’s a very good question to ask.”
He continued: “Obviously, it was a very big year, and I think there was something really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and the public looking at it. There were big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s going on commenting on it and speculating, and then doing the wrong things about it, to talk to people you really love.
However, it was not all bad. “However, it’s been an amazing year and a really good thing, and I’m very happy,” concluded Slater.

Slater rescued his girlfriend while promoting They are not bad to The Jennifer Hudson Show. “He’s a master of comedy,” Slater said. “He’s so funny. I mean, he’s amazing in this movie.”
He added, “I’m really proud of Ari and the work he’s done on this. He’s brought himself to it. I’m so proud to have been a part of it, and I’m so excited to be there in this next step where the world can see what an amazing thing he’s done.”
Later that month, the couple made their unofficial red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere They are not bad.
