Diddy’s Rep Denies Report Rapper Isn’t Paying Employees While in Prison
A member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ team is setting the record straight about the rapper’s finances behind bars.
After a report surfaced claiming some employees are angry that they are allegedly not getting paid, a rep for the rapper spoke out.
“The reports are misleading. Mr. Combs is in complete control of his personal and business finances,” Juda Engelmayer told Us Weekly on Wednesday, January 7. “Payroll and vendor payments are handled through standard business and accounting processes, with routine review and verification before payouts are made. There is no unusual restriction on finances and no basis for claims that payments are being improperly withheld.”
The statement continued, “We won’t be litigating vendor or accounting matters through the media.”
Diddy, 56, has been behind bars since his September 2024 arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied all the allegations against him.
In July 2025, a jury found Diddy guilty on two counts of transportation and acquitted him of the other charges.
Three months later, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced the music mogul to 50 months in prison plus five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine. The 13 months he spent behind bars before and during his trial will count toward his sentence.

While Diddy and his legal team have filed appeals, the rapper currently remains behind bars at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, Diddy helped organize and fund an inmate-led meal. More than 1,000 men were fed in the federal facility with help from an internal group called Bankroll Bosses.
“Thanksgiving, to me, is about making sure other people eat,” Diddy exclusively told Us Weekly through his spokesperson at the time. “Everybody misses their family. People get depressed during the holidays. We just wanted to come together as a family and do our own thing.”
During the Christmas holiday, Us confirmed that Diddy received a visit from his son Justin Combs. The father-son duo were able to chat for nearly 90 minutes.

“They talked and caught up on life with each other,” Diddy’s rep told People on December 26, 2025. “They talked about dealing with the hard times now and reflecting on the past and learning from it and how to do better in the future. It meant a great deal [to Diddy], particularly on Christmas, to have family close.”
Diddy’s tentative release date is set for June 4, 2028, per the Bureau of Prisons website. Family members, however, hope to see Diddy home sooner.
“He’s gonna be on the way home,” Diddy’s son King Combs told TMZ in November 2025. “He’s doing good, everything is good. He will be home soon.”
