Lizzo Shares A Small Bikini Pitfall Amid Weight Loss

On Saturday, January 3, Instagram carousel, Lizzo, 37, captured the camera while rocking a white bikini, blue manicure and rings. The swimwear featured was the Swim Triangle Bikini Top and the Swim Luxe Side Tie Thong Bikini from her brand, Yitti.
For another cut, Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) added a colorful boat bodysuit from Pucci and white mirrored earrings. She paired photos of her outfit with her song “DITTO.”
“YITTY & a Pucci fit… nastyyyyy 😜,” she captioned the post, which received messages from several celebrities. “😍,” Paris Hilton shared, while Sza he wrote, “YEAAAAA.”
Lizzo, who has been open about her weight loss journey, shared in November that she was “very suicidal” before putting her health first.
“I started losing weight in the fall of 2023. I was very depressed. I had a terrible scandal, and it was like the whole world turned its back on me. I wanted to kill myself deeply,” she wrote about Substack. “I killed all the people I love.”
After the “disgrace” – referring to three of her former dancers suing her in 2023 – Lizzo said she “can’t trust anyone.” (In court documents obtained by Us Weekly at the time, the group accused Lizzo of sexual and religious harassment, disability discrimination, creating a hostile work environment and more. He denied their allegations.)
“I found that I lost weight in that act, but it was not as important as it is now, because it was not intentional,” he commented, adding that he changed his way of thinking and saw his weight loss as a sign of “liberation” and not “lost.”
One month later, she took to Instagram to show off her bikini body and clap back at body-shamers – while rocking a bright yellow swimsuit with black snakeskin detailing.
“Today I saw a fat joke about me – in 2025 – and it was very common. It was a dumb joke and they were just laughing at me because I’m fat,” he wrote. “Let me remind everyone that NEVER let someone embarrass you for what you choose to do with your body. Because if you are big, they will talk ****, if you are young, they will talk s***. Your body will never be good for them because it is not theirs. It is yours.
Lizzo continued, “If I get a BBL mind ur business, if I lose 100lbs mind ur business, if I get every pound back then… mind ur f***ing business. Anyway.. my fat ass is left with a mortgage paid by bitches heads. 🥱.”
Lizzo’s friends and fans shared messages of support in the comments section.
“You look freaking amazing 😍 ppl I don’t want to see anyone doing good these days 🙌,” Trisha Paytas she wrote, while one of her followers added, “Voice! Me: damnnnnn she looks amazing! (Always).” Another commented, “Tell sis! you’re beautiful in every way, inside and out. ❤️🔥👏🏾.”
