Christmas came early Taylor Swift fans on Tuesday, December 23, with the premiere of the last two episodes of the Disney + docuseries, The End of an Era.
In the two-part episode, the Grammy winner, 36, opened up about what she wanted The Eras Tour to tell his followers.
“I created this trip on a molecular level to make people feel like they’re escaping, but for it to come like that?” he said in episode 6, thinking about the feeling that he succeeded in bringing that joy to those present. “Everyone in that audience is hopefully shaped in some way by something they see or something they hear or something they hear at a certain time. [those] three and a half hours.”
Going by the last few shows, however, the “Opalite” singer admitted that he was looking forward to the next chapter of his life that will come after the end of the tour.
“It’s been a year and eight months since I held my breath in the hope that we will be safe, we won’t get hurt, there will be no damage during the trip,” he explained. “For me, it’s overwhelming, I just feel gratitude.”
Swift is folded The Eras Tour December 2024 after 149 shows in 51 cities on five continents. It ended up being the highest-grossing tour of all time, grossing over $2 billion.

Travis Kelce Loves Andrea Swift’s Cooking
During a quick exchange at the beginning of episode 5, Taylor Swift and her mom, Andrea Swiftthey discussed their upcoming Thanksgiving plans — and Taylor had a special request from her then-boyfriend, Travis Kelce. (The two got engaged in August.)
“Can you make those great ribs for Travis?” Taylor asked her mother, 67. “Those are what they affectionately call dinosaur bones.”
Andrea then laughed at her future son-in-law, “Texas-sized ribs for a Texas man.”

Taylor spent much of episode 5 talking about how important it is to her that her family — mom Andrea, dad Scott Swift and my brother Austin Swift – they are on the trip with him. “Ultimately, I don’t see any of this happening if my whole family wasn’t involved,” Taylor explained in a confessional interview. “In an industry as hot as the music industry, learning hard lessons and dealing with ups and downs and triumphs and failures, it was a big challenge for my whole family, but everyone was locked in my whole life.
Andrea said it was a “privilege” to work with her daughter The Eras Touradding, “It’s a real privilege, and we know that. Because none of us would be doing anything he’s really good at if it weren’t for what he does that he does so incredibly well. It’s amazing, it’s fun, but mostly it’s our way of being together as a family and kind of honoring this thing that we’ve committed to all our lives.”
How Taylor Swift’s Grandmother Influenced Her Career
As Swifties know, Taylor’s maternal grandmother, Marjorie Finlayhe was also an artist and was the inspiration of Evermore a track named after him. In episode 5, Taylor’s mother, Andrea, explained that growing up with a professional opera singer helped prepare her for the career her daughter would eventually pursue.
“I don’t have a background in music or playing instruments, but I have this kind of deep knowledge of the psyche of someone who really has to do this,” said Andrea, later revealing that her favorite part of the show is when Taylor appears at the beginning of each concert. “That, to me, is the most important thing of all. It makes me feel like this was my calling in life. Whether it was Taylor or my mom, it was being around someone who likes to have fun and has an extraordinary talent.”

In episode 5, Andrea joked that she always hears her daughter’s new songs before everyone else – but that’s not the blessing it might seem.
“I often hear about new music within five minutes of it being written,” he tells the camera. “That’s the best thing I can think of and the scariest thing, because now I know something no one else knows except the people in that room. And that’s a huge responsibility. It’s like, ‘No, don’t send it to me. I don’t want it on my phone. No, no, no!'”
The Idea Behind the ’22’ Hat
Over the years The Eras TourTaylor was famous for his meet and greets, which had to stop after the coronavirus pandemic and because of the size of the Seasons production. Despite that change, it was still important to Taylor to have at least one special moment with each fan each night – which is how the now famous “22” hat came about.
“I wanted to bring back that moment … with a fan where I got close to him,” Taylor explained in episode 6 before revealing how the hat recipients were chosen. “I’ve got people in the audience scanning the crowd for the first couple of ‘times’ trying to find the kid who knows every word to the songs and is having the time of his life at the show, because that kid is basically like a representative of every kid in that crowd that night.”
While performing with someone in front of 60,000 other people isn’t as intimate as a meet and greet backstage, Taylor said she can still feel close to her young fans in those moments. “Everything that happens around us, and somehow we know that this moment is completely between us,” he remembers. “It’s like we meet, everyone else disappears for a second, it just reminds me why I did it.”
What Taylor Swift wants to do after the tour
The End of an Era it doesn’t address Taylor’s specific plans for life afterward The Eras Tourbut it’s clear that he’s not interested in taking on another big project right away. “I think that after this trip it would be good to re-grow some of the things that I have had to cut in my life,” he explained in the last episode. “You don’t have the power to do anything that seems optional. So I’m interested in getting some of that back, because I know I used to have hobbies too, like a personality outside of this trip. I can’t remember what they were. I’ll let you know.”
Although it may be a while before another tour takes place, the “Anti-Hero” singer insisted that the steady flow of music will not stop. “Storytelling, for me, is one of the most important things that makes me feel like life is worth living. It’s very important to me. And making a song is just the way I have fun,” he said in episode 5. “Songwriting happens whether I’m on tour or not. Because my life has always been a free-flowing state of, ‘Are you feeling it,’ you wonder about it.
Taylor Swift’s Final ‘Eras Tour’ Huddle Speech
The final episode of the docuseries showed Taylor’s emotional final speech to her team before the finale The Eras Tour in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8, 2024.
“I want to say that I always remind myself of one of my favorite quotes, that everyone is jealous of what you have. “Everyone likes to talk about experiences like this. The Eras Tour almost as if the pieces fall into place in some intended order, a coincidence of events that just happened, right? When I think about the people in this circle, I don’t think that they are pieces that just fell apart.”
Taylor continued, “I think of each of you as the tectonic plates of the earth, too The Eras Tour it wasn’t when all the pieces fell into place – it was just when all of us did a lot of work, where this trip was just when we all clicked together. We have traveled all over the world. We have been to America twice. We have made all attendance records in all major arenas. We broke every single record you can break on this trip. All that remains is to close the book. For the last time.”
In his final confessional interview, Taylor admitted that The Eras Tour He exceeded even the expectations based on the previous stages he reached in his career. “I’m used to doing successful tours,” he explained. “I’ve never been a part of something before.”
