Matthew Koma he knows how to pay his wife Hilary Duff to praise.
“My wife for 6 years, and they said we wouldn’t make it. Basically everyone said, ‘They won’t make it.’ That guy is just OK Just Jared comment section but f*** him we love him. Marrying you is like eating Taco Bell in the late 90s,” Koma wrote on her Instagram story on Sunday, December 21, alongside a photo of the couple cutting their wedding cake.
He continued, “I don’t know where I’m going to get it but it’s mostly the same ingredients and the happiness outweighs the stomach ache. And you always look so cool and I’m so happy when someone says, ‘We’re going to get meximelt.’ I love you, our kids are screaming and Mae just ripped the Ken doll’s head off.”
Duff, meanwhile, reposted the message on her own Instagram Story on Sunday, writing, “So hot to be compared to Taco Bell. She always gets the job done.”
Koma went on to share a screenshot of a meeting with Duff on her calendar from 2015, writing, “Meeting went well!”
In another photo, Koma uploaded a screenshot of her reaction after meeting Duff, in which she wrote in an email about herself, “I want to get married. [sic].” Koma added to her Instagram story, “And I did,” in which Duff wrote on Sunday, “Haahahahaha dork!”
Duff and Koma welcomed daughter Banks in 2018, one year before tying the knot. The couple has since welcomed daughters Mae and Townes in 2021 and 2024, respectively. (Duff also shares son Luca, born in 2012, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.)
The two have given fans a glimpse of their romance. When they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in December 2024, Duff shared a photo of Koma and wrote, “Five years down.
Koma, meanwhile, called Duff his “dream girl” and “best friend” in his tribute.
“As I lay next to you in bed, exhausted after our 3rd straight 14 hour day skiing our 4 kids – I feel so lucky. You chose me to do the impossible for you,” she wrote, in part. “And as we navigate the age of real IT, I think the most exciting thing is knowing on the other side of this, we find each other. He’s my favorite person to do anything and everything.”
He continued, “And I know that may sound ridiculous considering my inability to tolerate most people, but you shine this light on this joy in a way that forces me to fully humble myself and get closer to the sun of #LiveLaughLove than I thought possible.”
Duff has announced that he will return to music, Koma by his side. In November, Duff released his single “Mature,” which he co-wrote with Koma Madison’s love. (He went on to reveal that his latest full-length album, Good Luck … Or Somethingwill drop on February 20, 2026.)
“‘Mature’ is out today,” Koma wrote on Instagram at the time. “It’s the first song I’ll hear from an album my wife made a year and a half ago. Talk about a plan to reclaim what’s yours, give yourself permission to tap into the voice your little one never had, and do it completely, without regrets on your terms.”
He continued, “Ba, I hope the world likes this song, likes your album, and gives you all the flowers you deserve – but at the same time I don’t give a damn what anyone thinks because we have to do something that you like, that you think is cool, and we have to do it together — the rest is a bonus. Congratulations to my sweet, cool wife.”******
