The vice president of JD vence has been warned a long time ago about the process of the US Reffegee vetting process – Going back to the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in 2021 and the refugees that come after that. Now, Vance’s past comments on the matter are resurfacing after two National Guardsmen were shot in Washington on Wednesday.
Law enforcement authorities have identified the suspect in the shooting as Rahmallallah Lakanwal, 29, who entered the US legally in 2021 under a bid to manage a program that accepts Afghan refugee resettlement in the US.
In 2021, Vance posted a video on social media in response to sen-sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., who argued that the US had an obligation to help refugees who want to leave Afghanistan.
“Yes, let’s help the Afghans we’ve helped, but let’s make sure we present ourselves well, so we don’t get a bunch of people who believe they should blame themselves because someone looked at his wife the wrong way,” Vance said. Marine Corps veteran, said in the video clip.

Afghanistan’s top religious leaders who make up the Afghan Ulma Council have previously dismissed the Islamic Council to prevent suicide attacks, and say such attacks are incompatible with Islamic teachings.
Recently, Vance expressed similar concerns in an interview with CBS’s Margaret Brennan in January, where he said that “we have so many problems with these refugee programs, we certainly cannot ignore the thousands of people who are not allowed in our country.”

Specifically, Vance pointed to the Afghan National, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, who at the time was accused of attacking or plotting the date of the 2024 election.
Tawhedi and his accomplice Abdullah Haji Zada, also from Octhanistan, were arrested on Oct 7, 2024, after buying guns and ammunition from law enforcement agents, according to the justice department. Court documents say the pair bought two AK-47 rifles, 500 rounds of ammunition, and 10 magazines with the intention of carrying out attacks on the U.S.
Zada, 19, was sentenced in early November to 15 years in state prison.
VANCE called his words from the year 2021 on Wednesday after the shooting in Washington, and to sign the future action will appear a crack in the process of opening up refugees.
“I remember back in 2021 criticizing the bid policy of opening the foolgate for uneducated Afghan refugees,” Venance said Wednesday. “Friends sent me messages calling me racist. It was a defining moment.”
