Hansi Flick gives Barcelona the most important transfer of his three transfers in 2026

Barcelona Manager Hansi Flick has been part of one of the more runaway seasons in the Club’s recent history in terms of spending, but he will be hoping his side can be kept out of the window in the coming windows. It is reported that he is making his priorities at the Club clear next year.

When Flick arrived, Barcelona brought in Dani Olmo for big money and pau victor, while last summer Joan Garcia arrived for €25m, and Marcus Rashford was brought in on loan. However, there seems to be little doubt that this project is limited due to their salary cap situation, and the pursuit of Luis Diaz and Nico Williams is short.

Flick discusses Barcelona’s priorities

According to MD, Flick has now discussed the priorities of strengthening the Barcelona side in the transfer of Windows. Number one on that list is the left central defender. The exit of Inigo Martinez has proven to be no more difficult to overcome than others predicted, while Pau Cubarsi looked out of sorts for his unnatural side, with Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen failing to form.

One of the most important, one that the club has emphasized in recent months, is the number nine. With Robert Lewandowski out of contract next summer, the likes of Julia Alvarez, Harling Haaland or Harry Kane surround the dreams of President Joan Laporta, but everything seems unlikely due to the economy of the club. However, it remains a problem that cannot be fixed.

Marcus Rashford’s future is up in the air

The third position is one that Fick would like to strengthen at left-back. Barcelona are still considering whether to look to sign Marcus Rashford permanently, with a £30m buy clause in his loan deal. Barcelona also knows that Saudi Arabia may return to Raphinha, after many summer offers.

Barcelona could move the defender in January

Barcelona’s current central defenders are Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck, Marc Guehi, Nottingham Forest’s Murillo and Sport GP’s Goncalo Ide Dio. The Catalan paper also points out that this is the only one of the three priorities that Barcelona can look to address in January. The Club believes it would be difficult to make a move in January, due to their finances and the lack of options in the winter transfer window.

Conclusions from Flick’s priorities

It’s very clear from Flick’s priorities that he is sure of the alternatives he has in the center. While Eric Garcia has done well this season, he has made some good collaborations with Cubarsi, while Andreas Christensen seems to be the last indicator of Flick. Meanwhile ARAUJO has done well in the trenches as well, but continues to come up with big mistakes during the big games.
