“When I read those words, ‘He can’t die enough,’ it stopped me in my tracks,” Bellomo told Fox Digital News in an exclusive interview. “I always knew that there was political disagreement, but I never got my head around the fact that I actually wanted to be dead.”

Bellomo, the Marlboro Township board of education, a mother of three long-term volunteers and the community, is now at the center of a case that has shaken the state of New Jersey and sparked outrage among parents.

A Monmouth County judge this week extended a temporary order of protection against Mitesh Gandhi, the husband of another School Board member, after reading aloud a series of text messages written about him. The messages included a group chat titled, “This B—- Needs to Die.”

Another viral message, part of what was called “ningongweGate” which was called in October, appeared to show the sighting of the previous board of Scott Semaya during a public meeting, “Bellomo must undress – his nips can cut the glass on the keyboard of his phone.

FOX News Digital reviewed screenshots of the grilled messages.

That image went viral last month, drawing condemnation from parents and even Sen. TED CRUZ, R-Texas, called the comments “inappropriate.” Two voters involved in the debate later dropped out of the school board race.

“I was surprised that it reached that level,” Bellomo said. “But it wouldn’t surprise me that conservatives are standing behind each other. The parents’ rights movement is strong.”

Bellomo has spent more than a decade volunteering in Marlboro Township schools. He says he ran for the Board to support curriculum oversight and parents’ rights, not to be a target.

“I got involved in school boards because I am an active volunteer in our community. I have been involved with the parent organization that I have been teaching for 12 years,” she said. “So I saw the school board as the next step to further my involvement in the community and I wanted to improve my educational experience while in the K-3 district.”

The threats changed everything inside his home.

“My son is almost a teenager. He used to go to houses with his friends – now he is asking if someone will come to our house,” she said. “My 8-year-old cries when he thinks I’m having a board meeting. My youngest keeps asking if I’m safe.”

Her eldest son saw reports of grown men sharing lewd messages about Bellomo’s body on social media.

“That was humbling,” he said. “He’s an average student. His friends saw it. It affected every part of our lives.”

According to Bellemo, online hostility in the city is not new, but he said he believes that this past is a very important thing.

“It’s always a Facebook marriage, people argue,” he said. “When I saw that it wasn’t just one, but two different connections and, you know, who knows what the mission is and the mission is to get different food.

The judge presiding over the order’s protective hearing refused to dismiss Gandhi’s request to end the order, allowing Bellemo’s order of protection to continue into January, when a full trial will be held.

Under New Jersey Law, an abuse protection order can be extended if the judge finds a continuing danger to the petitioner.

But on the criminal level, Bellomo says the Marlboro Police Department referred the case to the Monmouth County District Attorney’s office, which ended.

He said: “I was depressed, but not surprised,” he said. “We have a Democt prosecutor. The police recommended charges, but he didn’t proceed.”

Bellomo says the most painful part has been the response, or lack thereof, from his school district. One of the threads, it says, was sent during a private Board meeting while sitting just feet away.

“Our township has policies. If someone is a threat, they should not be allowed on school property,” she said. “Our superintendent, Dr. Michael Ballone, didn’t do anything. Our board president, Brian Cohen, didn’t do it.

“Marlboro Township Public Schools (MTS) takes the safety and security of all Board members, staff, students and families very seriously,” Ballone wrote in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Administration responded appropriately to Mrs. Bellomo’s concerns, including her comments about feeling unsafe working with the Marlboro Police Department (including our security personnel who cannot be identified publicly,” the balloon added. “MTPS believes in maintaining a safe environment for everyone.”

Two members of the same Board, Annette Seewert And Valentina Mendez, she was the only partner who came in, she said.

“They begged the manager to protect us,” said Bellomo. “They stood up and repeated publicly and asked for action. No one else did.”

Bellomo says he has heard from many women who say that his condition has put him far away from government jobs.

“They said, ‘I’ll never get over what you’re going through,'” she said. “That’s sad. Local government shouldn’t require you to put your family at risk.”

“I always went to every school event, every community service,” she said. “Now I keep the kids at home from things. I send my husband inside to check if there are people there who shouldn’t be. My life changed overnight.”

Bellomo said he believes threats from his approval of outside curriculum and parents’ rights, issues that have divided school boards across the country.

“I was very nervous during my campaign,” she said. “I’m very strong on parental rights, space control and fair curriculum. She added, “I think it made me a target.”

Despite everything, Bellomo said he has no plans to leave the board.

“I absolutely want to continue,” she said. “These machines are very important. And I hope that the district finally implements the policies that are supposed to protect us.”

What he wants most, he says, is to remind Americans that disagreements should never turn into violence.

“We must be able to negotiate. We must be able to disagree,” said Bellomo. “But it shouldn’t rise to the level of wanting to hurt someone. We can do better than this.”

Gandhi, Semaya, Cohen and the County Attorney’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
