Jeremy Corbyn, the former leader of the UK Labor Party who was ousted from his party over financial allegations, was working to help Zohran Mamdani strengthen her construction in New York City on Sunday.
Mamdani’s Alliance with Corbyn comes within days of the opening of the polls in the race for New York City Mayoli, where he is the opponent of Drogreciate Egrecounter to the Democrats.
Known for his criticism of military operations in Gaza and clarification with the Democratic Socicians of America (DSA), like Corbyn, Mamdani has faced accusations of antisemitism.
Corbyn, now an independent MP, announced his support for Mamdani on Sunday via Facebook, posting a photo of himself holding a “North London 4 ZOHRAN shirt”.

“Let’s get Zohran on the line to end cheap New York!” post read.
“Corbyn supports Mamdani. No surprise.” commented each social user. “Why bother influencing politics in New York?” asked another.
Corbyn also shared a Bank-Banking link to a website hosted by the NYC chapter of the NYC chapter that is asking for volunteers to mobilize voters.
“Join NYC-DSA and Jeremy Corbyn, former UK party leader, as we call on Net New Yorkers to vote for Zohran Mamdani in New York,” the website reads.

The well-documented history of Corbyn and allegations of antisemitism runs back to 2020 when the UK’s Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) found that the Labor group under his leadership had committed illegal acts of discrimination against Jewish members.
Corbyn was suspended and formally expelled from Labor in 2024 over his response to the report. He has already launched a new political party on the left called “Your Party,” and continues to deny all allegations of antisemitism.

Responding jointly, the former governor of New York and Mayor Cuome Andrew Cuomo was quick to blame Mamdani’s decision, writing in X.
“Having Jeremy Corbyn – a trusted individual found to have committed illegal acts of illegal discrimination against the Jewish people under his leadership – phone-banking for @zohrankmamdani says all you need to know all you need to know all you need to know.
NY does not need moral compromise politics. We need leadership that rejects vested interests, divisiveness, and divisiveness in every way and in every corner,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, a week before the election, the Coodiam Finance Watchdog Group, a foundation of the Reagan administration, filed two criminal charges against Mamdani, alleging that he received illegal donations from foreign donors.
The Mamdani campaign maintains that any issue regarding financial contributions has been resolved.
