4 Arrested in Louvre Jewel Heist, Paris Prosecutor Says – Nationwide

The prosecutor of Paris announced several arrests on Tuesday in connection with the spectacular heist at the Louvre Museum in October by a group of treasures worth $ 102 million.

The two men and two women arrested in the Paris section and range from 31 to 40 to 40 years old, said the prosecutor, Laure Beccua, advocate.

His statement does not say what role he played in Oct. 19 Theft. Police can detain them for questioning for 96 hours.

French media reports that one of those arrested, a 39-year-old known to the police, is believed to be the fourth member of the group that is thought to have committed the robbery of a temporary day and comes from aubarvillis, which is in the north of Paris, with whom the other suspects have connections.

Three other members of the so-called “Commando” team have previously been arrested and are facing preliminary charges of organized theft and criminal conspiracy. Their DNA was found at the crime scene or on items connected to the robbery.

The thieves took less than eight minutes to force their way into the museum and leave, using a fearsome lift to reach the building’s window. The footage from the museum’s cameras showed the two entering the gallery of the ornate apollo, cutting to the cases showing the jewels with disc custs and making the two riders who were broken.

The Emerald-set Imperial crown of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugénie, containing more than 1,300 diamonds, was later found outside the museum.
